What is Squatchcon?

Squatchcon is a Comic & Arts Convention with an Olympic Peninsula twist. Squatchcon takes place annually the weekend before Easter. Our 2024 event took place March 21-24, 2024. Our 2025 event is scheduled for April 10-13, 2025 and will include:

  • An artist alley pop-up market featuring over 50 local artists, makers, authors, and comic collectors

  • An onsite tabletop gaming area with open play and scheduled tournaments

  • A panel series featuring local artists and industry leaders

  • Workshops, Q&As, and other experiences with artists, experts and local organizations

  • Comic swap, cosplay swap, and kids book swap events

  • Fandom and believer meetups

  • Special events and dance parties

… What about Sasquatch?

Squatchcon is not your typical Sasquatch convention - because we’re not a Sasquatch convention! We’re a Sasquatch-themed comic and arts convention. Each year we grow our believers meetups and Sasquatch workshops (including an in-the-woods workshop with Judy Carroll during Squatchcon 2024) but our focus is cosplay, fan culture, local artists, student artists, and super-fun all-ages experiences.

We see Sasquatch as a muse, spiritual guide, and protector of the forest. Our mascot Darrell is a friendly, arts-loving, slightly-nerdy Sasquatch who embodies our core values: be welcoming, be kind, be yourself. Sasquatch believes in you!

  • Nope! Squatchcon is a Comic & Arts Convention with a theme — but we do have Sasquatch programming as well as lots of Sasquatch inspired art and handmade items.

Judy Carroll, local Sasquatch researcher and advocate, joined the Squatchcon planning committee in 2022 and continues to support the convention as our resident Sasquatch expert and programming guide. Judy has spent seven years in the Hoh Rainforest communicating with ascended beings commonly referred to as “Sasquatch.” Click here to listen to her presentation at the Marblemount WA Bigfoot Conference or learn more at heartofthehoh.com

Sasquatch is one of of the most iconic figures of the Pacific Northwest and has carried a special significance to many people here throughout history. We are excited to share and celebrate this unique piece of local culture.

  • Heck yes it is! Squatchcon was created to give people of all ages something super fun to do during the cool misty months.

    • Our annual cosplay contest includes categories and prizes for contestants as young as a few months

    • The Squatchcon panel series connects working artists, industry experts, and local leaders with high school students and promotes awareness about local career opportunities in art, entertainment, and more

    • All three of our annual after-hours events are all-ages

    • We support student artists with our free student tables and mentorship programs

    • Kids 12 & under are admitted FREE with accompanying pass-holding adult

  • There is one set of tickets for Squatchcon: our 4-day passes.

4-day passes are $25 for adults (18+) and $15 for teens (13-17). Kids 12 & under are admitted free with a pass-holding adult. Save $5 on adult tickets and $3 on teen tickets when you pre-order online.

Your pass is all access; get into the main convention center, gaming area, meetups, workshops, panels, cosplay contest, swaps, and special events.

We heard your feedback: Our Thursday market is a free preview experience. Come check us out and get your ticket for the rest of the festival!

Thank you for supporting this local convention!
